Coaches Make a Difference Initiative

Coaches Make a Difference InitiativeFrom 2006-2008, I directed the Coaches Make a Difference Initiative (CMADI), an all-volunteer effort to help more coaches find clients and increase their income. CMADI was an independent task force to assist members of the coaching profession to increase their visibility and become more financially successful. Our members were life coaches, business coaches, career coaches, executive coaches, and those from many other specialties, not affiliated with any one organization or school.

CMADI created the following collection of free business and marketing tools created for coaches, by coaches:

  • Coaches’ PR Toolkit: Public relations toolkit to be used by groups of coaches working together — associations, chapters, SIG’s, and training schools — to promote coaching in their local community or market niche. This toolkit is still available; see below.
  • Coaching Research and Evidence: A collection of articles and studies to use when speaking with the media and the public about coaching, including helpful statistics and quotes about the value of coaching and who benefits from it. These resources are outdated now, and no longer available.
  • PR Resources: Additional information for working with the media and running a successful PR campaign. These resources are outdated now, and no longer available.

Thanks go to the following people who contributed to this project: Pamela Duffy; Helen J. Burton, ACC, CEC; Margo Kirtikar, PhD; Linda L. Layton, MA, ACC; Roxanne Roberts; Carla Schnitker, LLM, MA; Ron J. Sloan, MEd, MBA; David Stocum; Chuck Beatty; Maia Beatty; Kristen Beireis; Catherine Campaigne; Jess Dods, MBA; Maria Elena Duron; Feroshia Knight; Angelique Miralles; and Sinead Ruane.
